A Leadership development program is the chief vehicle for disseminating an organization’s culture and fostering the development not only of job skills, but also of core competencies, ethics and corporate values, priorities, leadership orientation, creative thinking, and problem solving qualities. At Universal Search Associates, we believe that quality and consistent management practices across the organization must be instilled from the start. We want to offer the practical tools necessary to manage an organization’s greatest asset, its employees.
At each step of their career, potential leaders are given new titles and they face the same dilemma: how to take on new responsibilities without feeling overwhelmed and overworked. Many fail to comprehend that in order to meet the challenges of their new position; they have to give up their previous job’s responsibilities. Only then, can they practice the new skills and competencies relevant to the new management function. The difficulty in clearly defining the roles, job functions, goals and objectives appropriate for one’s level of responsibility will remain the biggest undertaking of management for many years to come. Universal Search Associates’ objective is to support leaders to be and leaders in place to Work Smarter and Not Harder, therefore allowing them to support and practice true work/life balance.
But first, we believe that unless clear lines of communication are established, no development can be done. That is why we strongly recommend that each one of our programs start with a full day of discovery about one’s preferred style of communication and primary mode of operation. We are using tools that will allow people to become aware of their ‘color’, or preferential way to relate to the environment and to others. One’s basic style is not right or wrong, it just is. By becoming conscious of the differences between us, we can also realize that, even though we are tempted to address others in ways that might make sense to us, it is not necessarily the most effective means to mobilize people or to have impact. By learning to speak a language appropriate to the person we interact with, we will truly become part of the solution.
In our programs, we have made every effort to experiential exercises, role playing, business simulations, case studies and scenarios common to your work situations to render the experience more operational and therefore more relevant to your every day job functions. Our goal is to make participants an active part of the process and allow them not only to learn, but also to practice the new skills and transfer them later to their work realities.
